TJ's pawpaw had these old boards that were stashed in the back of the barn. These are boards that he stripped off of old pallets at least 20 years ago. Thanks for these old boards PawPaw.... you kept them for a reason!

We used the old pallet boards for our wall treatment in our master bathroom. The wall turned out great. We are just so tickled that the wood TJ's pawpaw saved was just enough!!!! We used all the pallet wood except for one piece!! He saved it for a reason and it was perfect!!

Time to check "INSULATION" off of the to-do list!

We had "Shawn the Insulator" out of Berryville AR come and spray our insulation. It was FAST and EASY.... EASY for us. :) He insulated the roof with the spray foam insulation and it took just a couple of hours. They were in and out! Came back on Monday and sprayed Cellulose for the exterior walls and our bedroom walls along with our ceilings for extra insulation and help with sound proof. We will have kids crawling above our heads. For the Cellulose.. it just took a few hours too! I couldn't believe how fast they were. We were able to open up the doors to help vent and go to work immediately after they finished. Hiring Shawn and his team to insulate was such a smart move! This was less work for us which gave us the much needed time to work on the electric outside and the water line coming in the house.

Here is a video of the spray foam insulation in the lofts on the ceilings.

Also here are a few clips of the Cellulose insulation sprayed into the walls.

Over due update!!!

A lot has happened  in the last two weeks!

Our home was delivered on September 5th and it was a great day!!!

It was weight lifted off of our shoulders to see our home being hauled down the highway. Right then... we knew we had made the best decision for us. Our building is the maximum size that can be hauled and moved. Which I don't remember the height limit but the 16x40 lofted barn/cabins are just an inch or two over the limit. Not sure how they get away with it but they hauled it for us. We were given several options for color and windows, doors, etc. We chose the metal roof over shingles and picked the color: Burnished Slate. The exterior paint is Toupe and the trim is Tan.

We also went went with the 11 Lite 36" Fiberglass French Doors and chose the 3x3 windows.

Set up and delivery went extremely fast and easy... thanks to Rick Williams. It was really neat to watch them unload our building. I was nervous but also excited! This is our HOME!!!

That very next day we attached the deck and stairs.

Deck attached!

Stairs!

As soon as we had the deck attached and able to work off of it... we started framing all the walls. There were just a few changes in the floor plan but nothing major.

The last two weeks have been nonstop busy! Our goal is to have all wiring, plumbing and insulation completed by next weekend. :) There is no grass growing under our feet and don't see us stopping any time soon!

Here are a few pictures of the wiring in progress. Please remember... we don't know what we are doing. We are not experts... but YouTube has made us pretty close to being experts. :)

THE BUILDING HAS ARRIVED!!!

Today at 11:30am we welcomed a new bundle of joy into this world! He is 16x40 with 2 lofts. Weighing about 11,000-12,000 lbs. His name is "House of Atlas"

Atlas was a Greek mythology Titan who carried the weight of the world on his shoulders.....but if you want to be technical "celestial sphere" on his shoulders. We don't know what that is... so we are going to go with the weight of the "world"on his shoulders :) We feel as if we can relate to him in his battles and stress. We have been faced with so much yet we still carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. Life doesn't stop. Bills do not stop. Hungry kids do not stop. ;) So... we present you the "House of Atlas" (storage building...LOL)

We woke up this morning to rain! It is raining and storming! Our house should have been here August 27th but the delivery dude had truck trouble... it was moved to Thursday and then Friday and now September 3rd! Everyone keep your fingers crossed!!! This has been the hardest thing... waiting. We have been ready since last week and we are in a bit of a stand still waiting for the building. Once it arrives, we have the deck to finish on it, plumbing, electrical, insulation, etc.

We are overwhelmed by the positive feedback and the kindness that you guys have shown us! We really appreciate all the support and good vibes! We have the wonderful folks at TinyHouseBuild.com that featured our story. If you haven't checked out their website... I ask that you do. They have a website full of GREAT information and resources.
